Far away in New Jersey, the psycho guy enter a church with a revolver and shoots his estranged wife and in the process kills one person who tries to save her and injures two others. All of them including the psycho and his wife are from Kerala – settled in the US.
Now let’s see few of the comments posted by certain people in the US in response to the news. This including the whites and the ‘immigrant’ keralites and Indians – according to the vocabulary of the whites.
‘In India, he would get away with killing his wife for leaving him. Only problem for this perp, he is not in India and will now have to spend some time in prison. This is just another example of how arranged marriages work. If she doesn't stay and take abuse, kill her. Every American should have some say in who is allowed to come to our country. It is time that we be allowed to vote on where we want migration to our country to come from and have say in who we want as next door neighbors. Immigration is not the problem; it is who we are allowing to migrate that's become our problem’ - by DH
The following guy was born and bought up in the US – a keralite. Such a dumb ass and ignorant dimwit
‘First off as a Keralites I do not see this as an honor killing. Second off finally Keralites have something to be proud off, finally a mallu who has done something that puts him in the news with out it being winning some stupid spelling bee. Third god rest her soul she probably had it coming because I know off alot off women South Indian who marry for there green card and leave their husbands. How do you know this girl did not do it for the same reason? She comes to the east coast and from what I hear she was pretty tight with the guy that got shot. Her husband being a man just could not take that. And finally the I am sorry to say the rest of the malayalees make me sick here you have 200 people in the church this guy comes in with a hand gun and no one else jumped in to nab him? He probably had 3 shots left. No instead your crying and weeping like that dude on the picture what a loser. You may be my people but you make me sick.’ – by AT
‘To AT, mister tough guy, I wonder when you get pulled over by the cops, do you mouth off at them or do you just sit quite like a wimp. Do not judge other people, unless you were there yourself…….’ – by KK
‘Yo KK, I do not know you and you do not know me. I am a tough guy and all that and people respect me for it do you know why?? Because what you see is exactly what you get. I am a tough guy because I earned my self respect!! When and if I get pulled over by cops I use my judgment and if the cop is a a **** then HELLLZZZ YA i am gona mouth off to him or her. What you never fought and beaten cops? I have fair and square in NYC in the boxing ring. SO BACK OFF IF YOU DO NOT KNOW ME!’ - By AT agin.
‘judging by their last names they sound like a bunch of immigrants. I wonder if theyr all here legally’ – another idiot
‘ Hey man you may know of only a few Indians, and as you said every Indian is different. You do not know me at all to say I have insulted my race. You have your view I have mine in this blog or forum I have expressed myself. Who are you to say that I am wrong? Who are you to judge me? I can mouth off when I want to the laws of this country give me the freedom to do so and I will mouth off when I want to and if I feel I am right. As far the Indians who you know that do not mouth off to cops or what that is their choice. I was born in the USA and raised between India and USA raised with both cultures, I have taken the best of both worlds. I learned in a young age man to defend what you believe in at always because its better fight for what you believe in and die for it rather than just exist. Going to school here where I was the 1 of 10 Indian kids you learn to fight and defend yourself very quick and as far as mouthing off I do that when its necessary.’ – AT again
I feel sorry for guys like AT. Neither here nor there!

Bits and Pieces...
Due to my infamous indolence, even though I had a couple of things to write about, I did not bother to sit down and write: ‘no tomorrow, no tomorrow……’ I keep saying to myself and it goes on an on till I zero in and do it at last!
Coming to the nitty-gritty of the ‘happenings’, here are some of them:
* Cartoon land: Sources say that AA has not left Dubai as he had claimed he would be instead he has joined another company and is killing people there with laughter- his laughter!
* Twinkle Twinkle little Star, how I wonder What You Are?’ – The company is currently decorated with stars hanging themselves from the ceiling as an indication of our latest promotion – intended motivation for employees to perform better for the quarter – but with a lot of loopholes to ensure that none of them get the money promised. Very tempting prizes like a company paid trip to Thailand etc etc! However, the promotion has been baptized with an apt name – ‘Star’ Promotion- something that you can’t reach!
* Got my ‘visum’ ATLAST!! My much needed break is therefore around the corner for SURE.
* Incase anyone of you want to meet King Khan i.e Sharukh Khan, all you got to do is call up this radio station in Dubai where they have a contest running for the most extraordinary love story! So incase you feel your love story is extraordinarily extraordinary – call the RJ and you and your partner can fly along with her to see Mr. Khan – provided you win and your story is not extraordinary just for you but for the others too- because we all tend to feel our love story is the greatest of them all and extra – ordinary!!!
* The winter has finally arrived in Dubai with the rain. And they were playing such boring songs on the Radio – chak dum dum – chak dum dum from Dil to pagal hai – give me a break!! They play that every year! It was followed by a string of flop songs. I switched off the radio and drove home peacefully listening to songs on my ipod.
Chak dum dum chak!!

Swim away...
While people were celebrating at the Atlantis and its sponsors and owners possibly petting themselves in contentment of their grand opening; I and friend DD were going for our first swimming class. That was yesterday evening. We reached there to be informed that due to some program that evening, the classes are cancelled. So we had our first swimming class today.
As we stepped out from the changing room ready for the swimming class, we looked like twins.
‘Do we look like we are going for a swimming race?’ DD quizzed as we both looked at our end result on the mirror that covered the entire length of a wall.
We did have a hard time selecting a swim suit and the end result was a full sleeved swim top (if that’s what it is called) of the same color, tights – same color again, swimming cap and goggles- different colors!
The first time we set foot in to the waters, a shiver ran up my spine – the freaking water was damn cold!
The water lapped slowly towards our head while Guru-ji instructed us on the underwater breathing and thus we got introduced to the new world- the miniature of the one ruled by Posedion and it clogged my ears and nose and I heard DD say among gasps ‘this is not going to be easy!’
However, we learned to float and we grinned with gratification! The Instructor was pleased too, he asked us if we are from UK to which we replied ‘no, we are from India – Kerala’.
‘That’s what I meant by UK – United Kerala!’
I couldn’t stop giggling – the cold water, my nervousness, DDs attempts to float plus the instructor’s poker- faced jokes kept me tittering and in the process drank a lot of water.
As I walked out after the classes, the weather was beautiful and we both went to have coffee at dome. Now I must say their moccachino is one of the best you can get out here and that biscuit they give along with it is tasty too!
The day was great and Iam looking forward to my next swimming class…. : )

Atlantis...

The richest party in the world happened at Dubai Atlantis yesterday. Now I understand the reason Rani Mukherji was here. Looks like she was one among the famous personalities from Hollywood and Bollywood invited to the party! The £1.5 million party ended with one million fireworks – almost 10 times the scale of the Beijing Olympics opening ceremony, with the organizers claiming the display was visible from space.
I did not get to see a thing though not even the fireworks! I guess a lot of them are debating on if the party was on bad taste to be held at a time there is an economic crisis however even though in a way it is true , it is better than killing millions in Iraq and wasting a lot of money on warfare!!
I guess am kind of sleepy and can’t bring myself to write more. I wonder why they did not invite Will Smith though!! Kylie Minouge was the Star of the show and our dear Priyanka Chopra had to pose as the Goddess of Atlantis while the fireworks went off around her.
I have just one regret that I couldnt be one of the guests to experience the Atlantis opening ceremony!!!

Rani & me..

I met Rani Mukherjee today at the MOE. I don’t know if am supposed to put an exclamation mark after that sentence however all that I know is I did not feel anything particular when I saw her standing behind me at the Jane Norman store checking out some dresses.
Its her famous or infamous husky voice that made me turn around , my reflex to who is this lady with a familiar voice after which it instantly registered on my mind that it is Ranis voice and even though I saw her , it took sometime to marinate into my brain that it was Rani Mukherjee. The first thing I noticed was that she looked pale without any makeup and her hair combed back with a band on top of it. She was dressed simple and was beckoning this fat ugly guy to come and check out the clothes.
I walked up to her
Me : ‘ Rani Mukherjï..?’
Rani: ‘Yes’, a fake smile or rather a tired smile adorned her face instantly
Me: ‘Hi !!’ And I shook hands with her. I don’t know why I shook hands with her!
Rani: ‘Hi.. .’
Me: ‘Came alone?’
Rani: ‘No, with family’, she smiled again
I then bid farewell and walked off to the fitting room. That was it. I later came out to find her gone and to find her mom outside the store with the same fatso however Rani was no where in sight. Her mother dressed in black, kind of plodded on to the Clarks store where she flopped on to the seats there. Looked like her weight was taking its toll on her with all the walking in the huge Mall.
I later went to Baskin Robbins and treated myself to yet another scoop of ice cream! Now that is more worthy than this but not if it was Will Smith instead of Rani who I met at the store!
They would have then had to call an ambulance to transport me back home!!

Scoops of pleasure

A soft scoop of yummy ice cream can make my day! AA came to meet JJ and me after which we took the meeting forward to MOE (Mall of Emirates) . The smells of caramel, nuts and chocolate smother your senses and ask you to come to them , come-on, come to me baby!! And I went to them followed by AA and JJ.
The pure bliss of the chocolate ice cream melting in my mouth and the sheer pleasure of having my taste buds pampered left me happy and content. Seeing me eat the ice-cream with glee, JJ quizzed if the chocolate ice- cream tasted that good. What can I say? It was heavenly.
Starting with the creamy chocolate to the sweet cone that balances it all, am looking forward to have one more scoop from Baskin Robbins !!

' Black' James Bond
I know the title of my blog may make people think that I have some intellectual stuff put up here however – that’s not the case!
This is how I see the world through my eyes though I may not be doing a very good job as I still can’t seem to be quite open about my feelings and write them down for everyone to read!
I just can’t seem to understand why all this fuss is being made about Obama – his name resembles Osama, a difference of a letter! He hasn’t even started doing anything yet and all this fuss about the color of the skin just makes it obvious that a colored skin being a president is like something that won’t happen often! Should we do that? Now Akon wants to be the first black James bond!! I wonder if he has the strength to even hold a gun in his hands! And how is he planning on doing that famous introduction?
Convict (echoes), James Bond Convict!! And should he make it so obvious by saying ‘First Black’ James Bond? He could have said ‘First Puny’ James Bond!!
Will smith would make a good James Bond though!! Drooool!!

Flu and Sun signs
And so it succeeded in conquering me! The Flu! I tried the so called tactic of ‘mind power’ to prevent it however it invaded the wall of my sheer will power like the Trojan – cunningly.
The day moved on with me visiting the doctor , the pharmacy and later settling down on the couch with Linda Goodman’s ‘Sun Signs’. Why the interest in that particular book when the virus was torturing my nasal and respiratory passages? Its simple, I suddenly found myself interested in reading about the different sun signs and how according to Goodman, the male and female version of the same sun signs can be different from each other.
I did not read the whole thing but which ever part I read, I tried relating the characteristics described for each sun sign to the people I knew under the same sign.
The Taurean rage of the bull especially for men – my dad ; the Libran charm and how their smile can melt anyone especially women – well what came to my mind was a friend I knew, my teenage crush , my brother and …oh yeah amitab bachan – err. His smile…was it enchanting? I sometimes do speak as if he – Big B were my uncle.
The Taurean lady is described as a ‘tall lady’ though many of them I know are short but then as I read I realised that the ‘tall’ meant as in emotionally strong! Yup, I agree with that too. Leo – likes to be treated as royalty and demands to be the centre of attraction – snobs! Scorpio – ruled by Hades, the god of the underworld, due to which they seem to be like these dark characters as in when I think of a Scorpio, it reminds me of dungeons! And the Virgos – cleanliness freaks and people who can get a nervous breakdown due to their tendency to fuss and worry over minute details!!
My health doesn’t permit me to write more and in humour of what I read however I am going to read that book again some other time and write a post on that soon.

Antartica in Dubai
AA has left the company and now a new one called moon-moon has joined in his place. AA has however pledged to return as AA part 2 , like bat man returns this could be titled as AA returns and a tag line attached to it that says ‘ with more laughter!’ . Well, we surely then will have a laser show to indicate his return.
I received a book as his parting gift with a tea set for the manager as the goodbye gift. ‘So that she thinks of me every time she drinks tea in it’, grinned AA.
‘ And laugh while having it?’ , I thought on my mind looking at him.
The day has started and am feeling under the weather. I wonder what the day has in store for me today. I promise myself to reduce the intake of coffee everyday however the moment I step into the office and with the air conditioner turned up to make us feel we are living in Antartica , I find myself moving towards the coffee shop or the coffee machine automatically. I remember seeing it once on a website, I guess it was the emirates website, where people who were travelling to the UAE were advised on carrying sweaters to keep themselves warm inside buildings as the air conditioners in them are in good working condition.

Lisey's Story
I guess I have made another bad purchase on a book! Stepehn Kings 'Liseys Story'. I just cant seem to bring myself to turn the pages or get myself interested in that book! Looks boring! For some reason I was under the impression that the story is somewhat related to the likes of movies like ' Gothika' and 'What lies under', but when I started reading, I felt that this was something else and 'click', my interest in it just switched off.Just like that, like a 'click'.Now it lies on the table, unwanted with its red cover and a outline of a spade on it. Now that explains it. I saw the spade and read the summary of the book on its back and thought that the story is so and so... my mistake!
Maybe the book is indeed nice but I guess that I will have to wait for one of those days now when reading anything will suffice to pick up this book again.

Movies...
Am back to blog again and I have the music of Akki bhai’s ‘Singh is King’ on the background.
I and my friend were looking forward to the release of ‘Dostana’ and unfortunately the same is only releasing on November 14th. For some reason, I was under the impression that the release date was somewhere last week and so was disappointed when I came to realize that its only next week. Looks like my activities have currently and for the time being zeroed down to ‘watching movies’!! What a disaster however I enjoy watching movies and make sure that I enjoy it to the max – which is the reason I don’t like any sort of disturbance while watching it at the movies. I have to have my nachos, popcorn, coke, chocolate whatever and I should be there even before they show the promos of other movies. From the beginning to the end, I want to watch it all PLUS no sort of disturbance please which includes wailing kids and untimely ringing of mobile phones!!
I went to watch ‘Fashion’ last week and enjoyed it however there was this kid with a couple seated back of me which was wailing and beating and making noises occasionally . Now, even though I love kids, at that particular moment, I wished I could throw the kid out!! I was irritated and amused at the same moment; amused at a couple of guys sitting in the same row as I and laughing at parts in the movie which wasn’t funny at all and one of them was falling on to the lap of the other guy and guffawing. Some people are really weird…

November
November has set in and the weather too is shifting from the hot lethargic sunny days to the cool days of winter. A light breeze gives you company if you are out for a stroll and the day ends faster with the night setting in sooner. However the traffic is still the same in Dubai. That will never change and we have to wait and see if the metro will ease this as promised!
Am in no mood to write but felt bad seeing the blog not updated for quite sometime now; the reason for this short post.
