While people were celebrating at the Atlantis and its sponsors and owners possibly petting themselves in contentment of their grand opening; I and friend DD were going for our first swimming class. That was yesterday evening. We reached there to be informed that due to some program that evening, the classes are cancelled. So we had our first swimming class today.
As we stepped out from the changing room ready for the swimming class, we looked like twins.
‘Do we look like we are going for a swimming race?’ DD quizzed as we both looked at our end result on the mirror that covered the entire length of a wall.
We did have a hard time selecting a swim suit and the end result was a full sleeved swim top (if that’s what it is called) of the same color, tights – same color again, swimming cap and goggles- different colors!
The first time we set foot in to the waters, a shiver ran up my spine – the freaking water was damn cold!
The water lapped slowly towards our head while Guru-ji instructed us on the underwater breathing and thus we got introduced to the new world- the miniature of the one ruled by Posedion and it clogged my ears and nose and I heard DD say among gasps ‘this is not going to be easy!’
However, we learned to float and we grinned with gratification! The Instructor was pleased too, he asked us if we are from UK to which we replied ‘no, we are from India – Kerala’.
‘That’s what I meant by UK – United Kerala!’
I couldn’t stop giggling – the cold water, my nervousness, DDs attempts to float plus the instructor’s poker- faced jokes kept me tittering and in the process drank a lot of water.
As I walked out after the classes, the weather was beautiful and we both went to have coffee at dome. Now I must say their moccachino is one of the best you can get out here and that biscuit they give along with it is tasty too!
The day was great and Iam looking forward to my next swimming class…. : )
Cheerio
